Custom-made Ceramic
and Glass Components

Defense

Although we cannot discuss some of the materials and components we supply, some non-classified examples include:

  • Ultra-flat silicon carbide mirror blanks, the material being chosen for its stiffness, lightweight and ability to take a good polish
  • High-strength, high shock-resistant ceramic components
  • Parts for a reference standard - this was made from zero thermal expansion material so that the calibration did not drift with temperature change
  • Ceramic armor components - the normal materials for this application are alumina and silicon carbide
  • MACOR® components to hold fiber optics
